Are You Too Busy to Hear God’s Calling?

When going about our busy life’s each day there is a good chance we can’t hear Gods calling us. This is my story of how God slowed me down so I can hear what he had to tell me.

I always wanted to counsel people in need but never got around to studying how to do it. I took a look at studying through Unisa, but that is all that happened, looking with no action. That is when I think God said enough is enough and He went over to action.

At the end of 2010 one if my toes started crossing over the adjacent toe. At first it was fine, but then during the next winter I started wearing shoes and not sandals anymore. It started getting uncomfortable to the point where I was forced to make an appointment with a specialist.

The specialist said the only way to fix my toe was to operate. The day after the operation the specialist came and he gave me a sick note because I was still working full-time at that stage. I looked at the sick note and saw that I was booked off work for eight weeks (two months)! I decided I would talk to him about this at the first follow up appointment, because it seemed like a very long time to be off from work.

Soon after I got home I realised why he booked me off for eight weeks. The only comfortable place was on my bed, because when I started moving around my foot would swell up to double its size.

One day I started browsing through the drawer next to my bed because I started getting very bored just being in bed the whole day. In my drawer, I found a card that was given to me at a talk I went to at church. The card was from Filadelfia training. I went onto the internet to find out more about Filadelfia and the rest is history.

(Excodus24) “15 When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, 16 and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days, the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud”

In our busy life’s we need to take time out and find a quite place where we can listen for God’s voice as Moses did.
