Why is it necessary to spend time with God, just listening?

In my previous blog, I spoke about how God stopped me to hear His calling. Today we look at another way to feel nearer to God and hear His voice.

Where else can you feel nearer to God than in nature, God’s creation? Not all of us have the luxury of time to go somewhere quiet and spend time in God’s Word. How many times have you planned your day and by the end of the day you only managed to do half of what you had planned? This doesn’t happen because there weren’t enough hours in your day, but because you wasted valuable time on unnecessary stuff.

When you take unnecessary stuff out of your day, take your Bible and a blanket (or a chair, if you, like me struggle to get up from the grass) and a glass of water to cleanse your mind and body. You’ll be amazed at how God’s Word opens up while you are sitting and reading quietly in nature.

(Job.35:11) “When God sets out the entire creation as a science classroom, using birds and beasts to teach wisdom”

(Ex 15:27) “They came to Elim where there were springs of water and seventy Palm Trees. They set up camp by the water”

You can also make an appointment with your friends to spend time doing Bible study in nature. You will all feel refreshed after spending time with our awesome God.

I logged out after writing this blog on Saturday night without posting it. Sunday morning in church the minister’s message was,“don’t get so busy that you can’t hear God’s voice”. How many times have you spoken to someone about the sermon on Sunday and then they tell you their minister had a similar message? Our ministers and pastors all get the same message from God.

Leave a comment below and tell us what secret you have that others can use to slow their life down.

God Bless
